Dance with wolves

This is a story happened on an American soldier, happened between two cultures, happened on the frontier, but what it tells is not as big as its background shows.

In the end of the story Lieutenant Dunbar was considered as an enemy by those American soldiers, they beat at him, laughed at him, insulted him, and bound him; he was saved by his Indian friends at last. Why those white people looked so ugly? Then what is culture? It reminds me of another movie I watched not long ago, Apocalypto, which is also a story happened before culture. In Apocalypto, fear is accentuated repeatedly, is that the symptom of culture? Is the listless the symptom of culture? Are inhuman actions the symptom of culture? What is culture? We’re always asking ourselves, we are always in an anxious state, anxious about what? We don’t know either. We are lack of trust, lack of happy, lack of goals. If there should be virtues on us, what’re they?

Kind? brave? … Which is on you? If you know it, magnify it. There must be several you-s in your body, they’re fighting with each other. Let the strong ones be more strong, let it win.

A movie clip of "Shall we dance"

Shall we dance?

Several weeks ago, a boy recommended the movie "Shall we dance?" to me, and this evening I carefully watched it. Well, it's graceful, moving and quite romantic... I love it!

I still can remember the first time when I saw a girl playing cha-cha with her parner, perhaps 1 year ago, and I was suddenly touched by it, by the speed, straight and power; from then on I decided to learn how to dance. I really appreciate that I have a good roommate who taught me and encouraged me to attend the balls in my university even just watch and a good friend who taught me quite a lot of basic rules in dancing.

Life is long and sometimes seems tedious; dance is happy and joyful. I'm lucky that I was lead to dance by chance.

Btw, I like those segments like the demonstration by Paulina and the ballroom dance competition part; the dances are graceful and harmonious, quite moving...

Say something about the movie Forrest Gump

Celebrate the new semester!

For this movie, I’d like to say it’s about the God. I’m not a Christian, but I choose to believe this story which is difficult to happen in the real world.

It’s a beautiful movie. Tom Hanks has a perfect acting talent, the story is attractive and the scenes are good. I’ve watched this 4 times, and each time I did enjoy different beauties.

Well, there’re many meaningful scripts in it. I especially like the one from Gump’s mother when she was sick in bed; she said “...you have to do the best with what God gave you...” I was always wondering that why Gump had his legend but not others provided the story is true; I think the answers are just in what his mother said.

…Most are born with a fine brain, to be able to see, hear and move, but many of them can’t find their way towards happiness. Simplest are the best, just as what was showed in this movie, Gump was born with a destiny to go with those simple things without many choices, but he’s happy. On the contrary, most people are born with many choices but don’t know which one to choose.

I always concern those women in the movies. Jenny in this movie had a misery childhood, so she kept on moving after she had grown up… I was touched by the scene that Jenny stood on the balcony brim feeling of death, and after that, she carefully crouched down, back to the seat, holding her arms tightly and weeping. She is kind and beautiful like an angel. The first time she saw Gump, she didn’t look down upon Gump like others. She had a dream of being a folk singer like Joan Baez She had her destiny to keep searching for the truth all her life….

I like these scripts:

“…You have to do the best with what God gave you…”

I like the dialogues during Mrs. Gump’s sick time. They’re quite impressive.

“Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get”

I don’t like this one much, but I think it’s beautiful.

“…I don't know if we each have a destiny, or if are flowed around accidentally like a breeze. But I think maybe it's both, maybe both are happening at the same time…”

Gump said these before where Jenny was buried.

Best wishes for my friends.
